The most useful thing to understand about IPL hair removal Singapore pricing is that the gap between a salon and a doctor-led clinic is a legal one, not a marketing one.

IPL and SHR can legally be offered by beauty salons. Higher-energy medical lasers are restricted to doctors. That is the whole reason a salon session can cost S$55 while a clinic session costs several times that, and it is why the two tiers are genuinely different products rather than the same thing at two prices.

The second thing worth knowing is that most chains here no longer run true IPL at all. The market has largely moved to SHR, which fires many low-energy pulses with contact cooling instead of single high-energy flashes, and generally suits Asian skin tones better. This guide covers five salons with real published prices, and it is direct about prepaid packages, because one of the best-known names in this category closed three months ago. Nobody paid to be listed.

01

IPL, SHR and medical laser, and how the plans actually price

Four things to settle before you book a trial.

  • Know which tier you are buying. IPL and SHR devices are lower-fluence and can legally be operated in beauty salons. Medical-grade lasers run at higher energy and are restricted to doctors, which is why they sit in clinics with medical oversight and cost considerably more. Neither is a scam: the salon tier is cheaper and needs more sessions, and the clinic tier suits sensitive or darker skin and conditions that need a doctor looking at them.
  • IPL and SHR are not the same technology. IPL fires broad-spectrum light in single high-energy pulses. SHR is a newer diode-laser approach that delivers many low-energy pulses in quick succession with contact cooling on the skin, which is generally more comfortable and better suited to Asian skin tones. Most professional chains here have moved to SHR, so if a salon still advertises IPL, ask what device it actually runs.
  • Expect 6 to 12 sessions, weeks apart. Light-based hair removal only works on hair in its active growth phase, which is why one session cannot do the job and why appointments are spaced. Anyone promising results in two visits is describing something other than how this works. Budget for the full course from the start, because half a course produces very little.
  • Compare the model, not the headline rate. There are three pricing structures in this market: promotional multi-session packages, which can look as low as about S$8 a session; standard per-session rates, around S$55 for small areas and S$79 for large; and unlimited plans, from roughly S$218 a year for underarms. Which is cheapest depends entirely on how many sessions you will realistically attend, so do the arithmetic for your own case before signing.

One caution specific to this category, and it is not theoretical. Prepaid packages are the norm here and prepayment is the recurring theme in beauty industry complaints. A well-known hair removal and waxing chain that still appears in most guides ranking for this search closed on 31 May 2026 after 21 years, and its prepaid customers ended up holding credits under a new brand owner. My guide to the best waxing salons in Singapore covers that story in full. Take a trial, then buy small.

And if what you actually want is medical-grade treatment with a doctor involved, that is a different guide: the best laser hair removal clinics in Singapore covers the clinic tier, its prices and when it is the right choice. This page is deliberately about the salon tier.

1. Wellaholic: the prices are published, including the ones after

Wellaholic goes first for a reason that has nothing to do with the technology: it publishes its whole pricing structure, including what happens once your package runs out.

Per-session rates are around S$55 for small areas and S$79 for large. There is a lifetime unlimited underarm plan at a one-time S$399. And unusually, it publishes a maintenance rate of about S$49 a session after twelve sessions, which is the number almost nobody in this industry tells you before you sign.

That last figure matters because hair removal is not a course with an end. Most people need occasional maintenance sessions afterward, and a salon that has quietly priced those at a premium can recover on the back end what it discounted at the front. Knowing the maintenance rate before you commit lets you compare the true multi-year cost rather than the introductory one.

It also runs unlimited monthly plans, and the honest way to evaluate those is to divide the annual cost by the number of sessions you will genuinely turn up for, then compare against S$55.

2. Only Aesthetics: annual unlimited, if you will actually go

Only Aesthetics runs annual unlimited plans, with underarms at about S$218 a year and Brazilian plus underarms at around S$759, which is the clearest version of the unlimited model in this market.

Unlimited works brilliantly for one type of customer and badly for another. If you will attend fifteen or twenty sessions in a year, S$218 for underarms is dramatically better than paying per session. If you will go four times because life got busy, you have paid roughly S$55 a visit, which is the standard rate anyway, for the privilege of feeling guilty about it.

So be honest about your own attendance before you sign. Look at how often you have kept up any repeating appointment over the last year, and price the plan against that number rather than against your intentions.

One practical note: its outlets close on Sundays, which rules out the day a lot of people would otherwise book.

3. MODE Aesthetics: the lowest cost per session

MODE Aesthetics runs promotional multi-session packages that produce the lowest per-session numbers in this guide: twelve underarm sessions for about S$88 plus GST, which is roughly S$8 a session, and twelve-session plans around S$128 plus GST for small or large areas.

At that price the package is doing the marketing. Promotional pricing at this level is designed to get you through the door, and the business model assumes you will add areas, extend, or upgrade once you are a customer. That is not sinister, and it does mean you should decide in advance what you actually want and be comfortable saying no to the rest.

It is genuinely good value for a defined goal. If you want twelve underarm sessions and nothing else, this is the cheapest route to that in the guide by a wide margin. Confirm the GST is on top of the advertised figure, because at these prices 9 percent is proportionally noticeable.

4. Musee Platinum Tokyo: trying several areas at once

Musee Platinum Tokyo is the Japanese chain in this market, running its own Smooth Skin Control approach, and its trial structure is the interesting part: about S$50 for six body parts, or trials from around S$20 for a single area.

Being able to trial six areas cheaply solves a real problem. Sensitivity varies enormously across the body, and the underarm session that felt like nothing tells you very little about how the bikini line or the upper lip will feel. Trying several areas before committing to a package gives you a much better basis for deciding which areas are worth buying a course for.

It is a women-only service, so it will not be the answer for everyone. And as with every promotional trial in this category, expect a package conversation at the end of the session, and go in having already decided what you want.

5. Strip: hair removal and waxing under one roof

Strip is the best known name in Singapore hair removal and offers light-based treatment alongside its waxing service, with trials from about S$35 for lip, S$40 for underarms and S$50 for a Brazilian, and a standard underarm session around S$80.

Having both under one roof is genuinely useful during the transition. A course of light-based treatment takes six to twelve sessions across several months, and you cannot wax in between, because the treatment needs the hair root present. Being able to plan that changeover with one salon that offers both is more practical than managing it across two.

The standard rate at around S$80 for underarms is at the higher end here, so this is a convenience and brand choice rather than a price one. It also has multiple outlets, which matters for something you repeat every few weeks.

What is the difference between IPL, SHR and laser hair removal?

IPL uses broad-spectrum light delivered in single high-energy pulses. SHR, or super hair removal, is a newer diode-laser method that delivers many low-energy pulses in quick succession while cooling the skin through contact, which is generally more comfortable and better suited to Asian skin tones. Most professional chains in Singapore have moved from IPL to SHR.

Medical laser hair removal is a separate tier. Those devices operate at higher energy and are restricted to doctors, which is why they are found in clinics with medical oversight rather than in salons. Higher energy means fewer sessions are typically needed, and it also means the treatment needs someone qualified to assess your skin first.

Practically, salon SHR is the sensible default for most people: cheaper, widely available, and effective over a course of six to twelve sessions spaced several weeks apart. Go to a doctor-led clinic if you have sensitive or darker skin, a skin condition, previous bad reactions, or you simply want medical assessment as part of the process.

How much does IPL cost in Singapore?

It depends entirely on which pricing model you are on, and the spread is more than tenfold. Promotional multi-session packages can work out around S$8 a session, for example twelve underarm sessions for about S$88 plus GST. Standard per-session pricing sits around S$55 for small areas and S$79 for large areas. Annual unlimited plans start at roughly S$218 for underarms, and one lifetime underarm plan is priced at S$399 as a one-off.

The right comparison is your total cost over the course, not the headline. You need six to twelve sessions to see proper results, plus occasional maintenance afterward, so work out what your realistic total looks like under each model. A published maintenance rate, such as the roughly S$49 a session quoted after twelve sessions at one salon, is exactly the number to ask every salon for.

Two things to check on any package. Whether GST is included or added, which is proportionally significant at promotional prices. And what happens to unused sessions if you stop, move or the outlet closes, because this is a prepaid industry and that question has a real answer worth hearing before you pay.

My verdict on IPL and SHR salons in Singapore

For most people, Wellaholic, because it publishes the whole ladder including the maintenance rate after twelve sessions, which is the number that decides your real multi-year cost and which almost nobody else states.

If you know you will attend often, Only Aesthetics at around S$218 a year for underarms, priced honestly against your actual attendance rather than your intentions. For the lowest cost per session on a defined goal, MODE Aesthetics. To find out how several areas feel before committing, Musee Platinum and its six-part trial. And if you are switching over from waxing, Strip, which handles both.

One rule for the whole category: trial first, then buy small. This is a prepaid industry, and a 21-year-old chain that still appears in most lists ranking for this search closed in May. A twelve-session package is a reasonable risk. A three-year plan is not.

A closing note for the salons. Every business on this page that publishes real prices made this guide easy to write, and the one figure that separates them is the maintenance rate after the package ends, which only one states. In a category people research quietly and compare across four tabs, being the salon that answered the awkward question is worth more than another promotion. If your website is not doing that, it is fixable, and it happens to be my day job. Take a look at my web design services in Singapore, or get a quote and I will tell you honestly what I would change.
