9 Best Sofa Shops in Singapore (November 2026)

The 9 best sofa shops in Singapore for 2026, from modular sofas that arrive in boxes to recliners and sofa beds, and the seat depth that suits an HDB flat.

This guide is part of Terris Recommends, my researched, hands-on picks of the best local businesses and services in Singapore. Every recommendation is researched and ranked by me.

Shopping for a sofa in Singapore usually starts with the colour and ends with a tape measure, and it should go the other way round. Two numbers matter more than any swatch: the seat depth, which decides how you actually sit, and the overall depth, which decides whether the thing gets into your lift at all.

My guide to the best furniture stores in Singapore covers the delivery path in detail. The short version is that an HDB lift door is about 90cm wide and a three-seater is 85 to 95cm deep. This guide goes further into the sofa itself. I spent a few weeks going through the sofa shops people here actually buy from, reading warranty tables, fabric specs and return policies, and comparing what each one is willing to put in writing about frames, foam and delivery.

Nine made the list. Some sell modular sofas that arrive in boxes, one builds to your measurements in a Singapore workshop, and two are where I'd go for a recliner or a leather sofa. Each of them publishes something useful that most sofa shops leave out.

What to check before you buy a sofa in Singapore

Five things I'd check before paying a deposit on any sofa, in any shop.

  • Seat depth, separately from overall depth. Seat depth runs from the front edge of the cushion to the backrest. Around 50 to 55cm suits most people who sit upright with their feet on the floor. Past 60cm you have a lounging sofa, lovely for lying down and cross-legged evenings, harder work for anyone shorter or older who has to push off the cushion to stand. Sit on it the way you'll sit at home, shoes off, for longer than feels polite.
  • Foam density, as a number. Ask what the seat foam is. Cushion foam in the low 20s, in kilograms per cubic metre, is the kind that sinks into a dip where you always sit. Good seat cushions are usually in the mid 30s or higher, often high-resilience foam wrapped in fibre or feather for softness. A salesperson who can't tell you the density has told you something anyway.
  • The frame, and what the warranty table actually covers. Kiln-dried hardwood, good plywood and steel all make solid frames. Particle board does not. Read the whole warranty, because a long frame warranty often sits beside a much shorter one for foam, springs and recliner mechanisms. Timber from FSC-certified forests is worth a small premium if you care where the wood came from.
  • Fabric that copes with humidity. Performance fabrics (Aquaclean, FibreGuard-treated weaves, solution-dyed acrylics) shrug off spills and don't mind the damp. Leather wipes clean and is fine as long as the room gets air. Linen breathes beautifully and creases and stains just as beautifully. Removable covers beat all of them, since a cover can go to the laundry and a sofa can't.
  • How it gets into your flat. Modular sofas come apart into pieces that each clear a lift door with room to spare, and a few brands ship in boxes. That matters most in walk-ups, older blocks and condos with a small service lift. Ask the delivery question before the colour question.

Then know your rights before you pay. Singapore's lemon law sits in the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act and covers a sofa like anything else you buy: a defect that shows up within six months of delivery is presumed to have been there from the start, unless the shop proves otherwise. The government's lemon law advisory sets out what the retailer then owes you, a repair or replacement first and a refund if that fails. Keep the delivery note.

1. King Living: steel frames with a 25 year warranty

King Living goes first because it puts the longest written promise on the part of a sofa that matters most. Its Singapore warranty terms give 25 years on the steel or alloy frames of the indoor furniture it makes, counted from the day of delivery. That is a figure most sofa shops won't commit to on paper.

2. Cozmo: the sofa that arrives in boxes

Cozmo is my pick for anyone in a walk-up, an older block or a condo with a cramped service lift, because the sofa comes in boxes. Cozmo says the boxes are sized to go through doorways, up stairs and into lifts, and the pieces click together without tools once they're inside.

3. Danovel: a sofa built to your measurements in Singapore

When the wall is an awkward length, or the room needs a sofa 8cm shallower than anything in a catalogue, Danovel is where I'd go. It builds custom sofas in its own Singapore workshop and has been in upholstery here since the 1960s, when the family business started out as Hock Hin Furniture.

4. Paliano Casa: prices on the page and a 30-day home trial

Paliano Casa is the easiest sofa shop in Singapore to buy from without second-guessing yourself. The prices are on the website, delivery is free, it takes away your old sofa (of a similar size) for free, and you get 30 days at home to decide, with collection at no courier cost if it isn't right.

5. Castlery: performance fabric at a mid-market price

Castlery is the sofa brand Singapore searches for by name. Google sees about 27,000 searches a month for "castlery" in Singapore, against 6,600 for "sofa Singapore" itself, and that tells you where the middle of the market goes first. Founded locally in 2013, it runs its own supply chain, which is how the designs look further up the market than the prices.

6. Cellini: leather sofas and motorised recliners

For a leather sofa or a recliner sofa, Cellini is the homegrown specialist. It has been selling furniture in Singapore since 1986, and leather living room sets and motorised recliners are what it is known for.

7. Picket & Rail: recliners for a shallow living room

Picket & Rail is where I'd look for a recliner in a small HDB living room, because it sells wall-hugging recliners. A standard recliner swings its back towards the wall as it tips, so it needs a good gap behind it. A wall-hugger slides the seat forward instead, which lets the sofa sit much closer to the wall without losing a strip of floor to the mechanism.

Wall-hugging recliners and leather sofas

8. Originals: removable covers on a hardwood frame

Originals is my pick for homes with small children, pets or both, because many of its sofas come with removable covers on hardwood frames. When the cover can go in the wash, a juice spill is an annoyance and nothing more.

9. BoConcept: a modular sofa configured piece by piece

BoConcept is for the person who wants to design the sofa themselves. Almost every piece is configurable, the modular systems go together module by module, and the Singapore store offers more than 120 fabrics and materials, with free samples you can take home and look at under your own lighting.

Buying the rest of the room

A sofa is usually one of four big pieces bought in the same few weeks, and the same rules about depth, lead time and lift doors apply to every one of them. I have separate guides to the best dining tables in Singapore, the best bed frames in Singapore and, for the work-from-home corner, the best office chairs in Singapore. For shops that sell the whole flat, start with my furniture stores guide.

If you're moving at the same time, line up the movers before the sofa delivery. A sofa delivered to the old address is a second delivery fee and a second argument with a lift. My list of the best movers in Singapore is the place to start.

How much does a sofa cost in Singapore?

A new sofa in Singapore runs from a few hundred dollars at the budget end to several thousand for a premium leather or modular set. Paliano Casa's published prices are a fair guide to the middle: a modular Sammie from $529, the Sienna sofa bed from $859, the washable-cover Stella from $1,199 and the deep-seat Skylar from $1,758.

Above that you are paying for things you can check: longer frame warranties, better leather, custom sizing and brand. Price the whole job. Delivery, a staircase carry in a walk-up and disposal of the old sofa can add a surprising amount at shops that don't include them, and Paliano Casa and Cozmo both include delivery.

What size sofa fits an HDB living room?

For most HDB living rooms, a three-seater of around 200 to 220cm long and no more than about 90cm deep is the safe size. It leaves room to walk past, and its depth still clears a typical 90cm lift door when the sofa is turned on its side. A seat depth of 50 to 55cm suits upright sitting.

Before you buy, mark the sofa's footprint on the floor with masking tape and live with it for a few days, including the walkway in front of it and the coffee table. If you're renovating, give your designer the sofa dimensions before the TV console and feature wall are built. My guide to the best HDB BTO interior designers covers the firms that plan a living room around the furniture, which is the right way round.

Is a leather or fabric sofa better in Singapore's humidity?

Both work in Singapore's humidity, provided the room gets air. A leather sofa wipes clean and doesn't trap dust, but it can grow surface mould in a closed, unventilated room. A fabric sofa breathes and feels cooler on bare skin, and a performance fabric such as Aquaclean or a FibreGuard-treated weave adds stain resistance.

Two things to avoid. Bonded leather and cheap PU leather tend to crack and peel in this climate within a few years, so ask exactly what the leather is. And a delicate fabric with fixed covers is a gamble in a home with children or pets. When a fabric sofa does need a proper clean, a professional steam or extraction clean costs far less than a new sofa, and my guide to the best sofa cleaning services in Singapore lists who does it well.

Is a sofa bed comfortable enough for guests?

A good sofa bed is comfortable enough for guests who stay a few nights, as long as you check three things in the shop: the opened size, the thickness of the mattress and how easy the mechanism is to work. Paliano Casa's Sienna, for example, opens to 180 by 180cm, which is king width but shorter than a standard bed, so tall guests will notice.

Lie down on it in the showroom, open and close it yourself, and measure the room with the bed open, because a pull-out needs a good stretch of clear floor in front. For a room that will host guests every other month, King Living and Castlery both sell sofa beds made for regular sleeping, with proper mattresses.

What can I do if my new sofa turns out to be defective?

Under Singapore's lemon law, a defect that appears within six months of delivery is presumed to have existed at delivery, so the shop has to repair or replace the sofa, and offer a refund if it cannot. After six months, it is up to you to show that the defect was there from the start.

Write to the shop with photos as soon as you notice a problem, keep the delivery note and invoice, and refer to the government's lemon law advisory if the conversation stalls. Frame warranties go much further than the six months: King Living's runs 25 years and Cozmo's 15, so keep those papers too.

How do I get rid of an old sofa in Singapore?

The easiest way to get rid of an old sofa in Singapore is to buy from a shop that takes it away. Paliano Casa removes an old sofa of a similar size for free when it delivers the new one. Otherwise, HDB residents can ask their town council about bulky item removal, and condo residents usually go through the management office or a licensed collector.

Before you replace it, check whether you need to. A sofa with a sound frame and tired upholstery can often be reupholstered, and Danovel does that work too. A sofa that's just grubby needs a clean, which costs a fraction of a new one.

My verdict on the best sofa shops in Singapore

For the longest written frame warranty and a modular sofa you'll keep for decades, King Living. For a walk-up or a tiny lift, Cozmo, because it arrives in boxes. For an exact size built in Singapore, Danovel. To replace a tired sofa with the price on the page and 30 days to change your mind, Paliano Casa.

For a mid-market sofa with performance fabric and dimensions on every listing, Castlery. For a leather recliner sofa, Cellini, at cellini.com.sg. For a recliner in a shallow room, Picket & Rail and its wall-huggers. For children and pets, Originals and its removable covers. And to configure a modular sofa down to the last cushion, BoConcept.

Whichever shop you pick, do three things before the deposit. Sit on the sofa for ten minutes. Get the foam density and the frame warranty in writing. And measure the lift door, the corridor turn and your main door. For everything else that has to go in the room, my guide to the best furniture stores in Singapore picks up where this one stops.

A closing note for the sofa shops. The ones that publish seat depth, foam spec and warranty terms on the product page were the easiest to put on this list, because those are exactly the questions a buyer has while standing in an empty living room with a tape measure. If your website leaves them out, that buyer orders from the shop that answered. Fixing that is my day job: have a look at my web design services in Singapore, or get a quote and I will tell you honestly what I would change.
