Editorial standards
Terris Recommends is an independent editorial project I run. Here is what I hold every guide to, so you know exactly what is behind a recommendation before you act on it.
Last reviewed 13 July 2026
Every guide is my own hands-on research into real Singapore businesses. I feature the ones I would genuinely suggest, I always leave the alternatives in so you can disagree, and I do not fabricate reviews or credentials for anyone. Prices are indicative, so confirm the latest directly with the business.
Six standards behind every guide
Researched, not copied
Every shortlist comes from my own hands-on research into who genuinely does strong work in Singapore, not a recycled directory listing or an automated list scraped from wherever ranks highest that day.
Real, operating businesses
Every provider on a list actually trades in Singapore, with a verifiable presence and a track record. If I cannot verify it, I do not state it as fact.
Genuine reviews only
I reference real customer feedback and my own research. I do not invent reviews, testimonials, ratings, or credentials for any business.
My own judgement
These are independent editorial recommendations based on my research and point of view. I lead with the business I would suggest first, then set out the alternatives so you can make your own call.
Prices are indicative ranges
Singapore market rates move, so use my figures as a guide and confirm the latest quote directly with each business before you commit.
Verify before you commit
Always check licensing, credentials, and reviews yourself before booking a provider. My guides are a strong starting point, not a substitute for your own due diligence.
How a business gets featured
Being featured comes down to my assessment. A business can put itself forward, or I find it in my own research, but either way it goes through the same checks: track record, credentials and licensing, specialisation, and the pattern in genuine reviews. Only the ones I would happily recommend make a guide.
How to put a business forwardEditorial FAQ
Are Terris Recommends guides independent?
Yes. Every shortlist is my own research and editorial judgement rather than a scraped directory or an automated list. I lead with the business I would genuinely suggest first, and I always leave the real alternatives on the list so you can disagree with my top pick.
How do you decide who gets featured?
On the strength of my assessment. I look at a business against the same things every time: track record, credentials and licensing, specialisation, pricing transparency, and the pattern in genuine customer reviews. Only businesses I am comfortable putting my name next to make a guide.
Can a business ask to be included?
Yes. A business can put itself forward on the get-featured page. It then goes through the same research and assessment as everything else, so putting a business forward does not guarantee it a place.
Where do the prices in each guide come from?
I source indicative Singapore price ranges from providers' own pricing, published rates, and typical market figures at the time of writing. Rates move and depend on your exact job, so treat them as a starting point and confirm the latest quote directly with the business.
How often are the guides updated?
I revisit guides as the market changes: when prices move, businesses open, close or change hands, or the review picture shifts. Every guide shows its last-updated date, and the update log tracks the whole series.
I think something is wrong. How do I flag it?
Please tell me. Use the contact page to report a correction, and I will verify and fix it. Accuracy matters more to me than leaving a guide untouched.
Questions, corrections, or a business to suggest?
I read everything. Whether a detail needs fixing or you know a Singapore business worth a look, get in touch.
