9 Best IB Tuition Centres in Singapore (October 2026)
IB tuition Singapore guide: 9 centres compared by IB subject, format and published fees, plus what a tutor may do on the IA and Extended Essay.
This guide is part of Terris Recommends, my researched, hands-on picks of the best local businesses and services in Singapore. Every recommendation is researched and ranked by me.
See all recommendationsIf your child is doing the IB Diploma and one subject has started to slip, you'll find hundreds of tutors offering IB tuition in Singapore. Plenty of them are general tuition centres that have added "IB" to a long subject list. A few teach the IB as its own course, with HL and SL classes kept apart, tutors who know the internal assessment (IA) criteria, and help on the Extended Essay that stays inside the IB's rules. Those are the ones I went looking for.
I started from the 40-odd names on the two longest lists already ranking for this search, then read the IB, fee and contact pages of the 13 that teach IB in Singapore. For each I checked what it actually teaches, who teaches it by its own account, group or one-to-one, where it is, and what it charges where it says. I kept nine. I also read what the International Baccalaureate says about outside help with coursework and what MOE says about registering a tuition centre, because both change what you should ask before you pay.
Still choosing the school itself? Start with my guide to the best international schools in Singapore, and for IB results school by school, my IB schools guide. For PSLE, O-Level and A-Level help, my tuition centres guide covers the MOE side. This one is only IB and IGCSE.
Fees are as each centre publishes them on its own site, checked on 28 October 2026. "On request" means the site doesn't list a price.

| Premium Tutors | A home tutor | 1-to-1 at home or online | Islandwide | S$40 to S$120 an hour | Yes |
Most students don't need help in six subjects. They need it in one or two, and the best place for HL Chemistry isn't always the best place for English Lang & Lit. This is where I'd start for each subject, going by what each centre lists and who it says teaches it.
| IB subject | Where I'd start | Also worth a look |
|---|---|---|
| Math AA or AI, HL or SL | Eipimath: one teacher, IB maths since 2014, all four courses | Photon Academy, Mindlab International |
| Chemistry | Mindlab International, or Edulab Academy, which says its chemistry is headed by IB examiners | Quintessential Education, Photon Academy |
| Physics | Photon Academy, whose founder teaches IB Math and Physics | Mindlab International, Prep Zone Academy (1-to-1) |
| Biology | IB Super, which runs its own biology programme | Photon Academy, Mindlab International |
| Economics | The Economics Tutor: IB-only classes, HL and SL taught apart | Quintessential Education, Mindlab International |
| English Lang & Lit | Mindlab International: Lang & Lit and Literature, HL and SL | Photon Academy (online only), Quintessential Education |
| Chinese B | Photon Academy: three Chinese tutors, Chinese A and B | Prep Zone Academy (1-to-1), Quintessential Education |
| Computer Science | Photon Academy or Prep Zone Academy | Coding classes for the groundwork |
| TOK, Extended Essay and IA | Quintessential Education: separate IA and EE programmes | Photon Academy, The Economics Tutor (Economics IA and EE) |
| IGCSE | Mindlab International: Cambridge and Edexcel, private candidates too | Quintessential Education, Photon Academy (maths and sciences) |
For Chinese as a language rather than an exam subject, my Chinese tuition guide has far more choice, and Computer Science often starts years earlier in coding classes for kids. If your child is on the IGCSE track in Years 9 to 11, my guide to the best IGCSE schools in Singapore covers the schools behind it.
Group lessons are S$480 a month and one-to-one S$600 a month, each for four lessons, and the site says there's no registration fee. It doesn't give the lesson length, so ask. Classes are grouped by school and by where each school is in the syllabus, which matters when two schools teach topics in a different order. Lessons are recorded for revision, every subject can be taken online over Zoom, and IB English is online only.
The site names ten tutors and what each teaches. The founder, Ejaz Ahmad, takes IB Math and Physics, the IB English and TOK tutor is listed as an IB examiner, and three tutors cover Chinese A and B. Photon is at 5 Tank Road near Fort Canning MRT, though its biology listing mentions classes at Eunos, so check where your child's class meets. It also runs a pre-IB bridging course and IGCSE maths and sciences.

Group tuition is S$530 a month for four lessons of 1 hour 45 minutes, with 10% off if your child signs up with two friends. One-to-one is four lessons of 1 hour 30 minutes a month, from S$750 with a junior tutor to S$980 to S$1,080 with a master tutor. The subject list runs across the Diploma: Biology, Business, Chemistry, Chinese, Economics, English, ESS, Geography, History, Lang Lit, Mathematics, Physics and the arts. QE says its courses are designed by IB examiners and Oxbridge graduates.
The IA programme covers choosing a research question, planning the method, draft reviews and pre-submission checks, priced per lesson at S$130 in a group or S$187.50 to S$270 one-to-one. That's useful help, and it's also exactly where the IB's rules bite, so read my section on IA help below and agree with the tutor what they will and won't touch. QE also runs IGCSE tuition, holiday crash courses and university admissions advice from 545 Orchard Road.

On the IB side it lists Math AA and AI, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, English Language & Literature, English Literature, Economics, History and French, at HL and SL, taught one-to-one or in small groups, at the centre or online. It also gives IA and Extended Essay guidance. Mindlab describes its tutors as "IBO certified" but doesn't list their qualifications, so ask who will teach your child and what that certification covers.
There are four ways in: weekly lessons, intensive revision at least twice a week per subject, a holiday head-start programme, and an exam-retake course. Fees aren't published. It stays open until 10pm from Tuesday to Thursday, which suits students whose school day runs late.

Hong has a first-class honours degree in economics from NUS, spent four years in the Singapore Administrative Service, and has taught economics since 1998, by the site's account. He has also written IB Economics study guides. A mini group of three to six is S$660 for four lessons and a small group of eight to twelve is S$480, plus an S$80 registration fee and S$120 a semester for materials. One-to-one runs S$150 to S$220 an hour, and slots are limited.
The IB groups meet at Novena and Eunos. Lessons are live on Google Meet and recorded, so a student can switch between the classroom and online from week to week. It coaches the Economics IA from start to finish, offers private Extended Essay consultations, and also teaches IGCSE Economics.

A 13-lesson HL term in a group costs S$1,560 for 26 hours, which works out to S$60 an hour, and one-to-one is S$5,200, or S$200 an hour. SL lessons are shorter: S$1,300 in a group or S$3,900 one-to-one for 19.5 hours. Luo graduated from SMU with first-class honours in economics and actuarial science, and he also teaches H1 and H2 Maths, O-Level and IP maths.
Lessons are at Beauty World Centre, by Exit A of Beauty World MRT, or on Zoom. There's no IGCSE course and no home tuition. If your child is weighing a switch between AA and AI, or HL and SL, a maths specialist who teaches all four is a sensible person to ask.

The main list is Math AA and AI, English Language & Literature and Literature, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics and Psychology, at SL and HL. Its trial form adds Business Management, Chinese A and B, Computer Science, Design & Technology, Geography, History, Spanish, TOK and the Extended Essay, which makes it the fallback for the subject nobody else teaches. Prep Zone says its trainers are graduates of top universities with years of IB teaching at both levels.
Fees aren't published, and you start with a paid one-hour trial lesson. It's at 15 Scotts Road, opposite Far East Plaza, open 10am to 6pm daily. Some families use a private tutor like this for the one hard subject while the rest stays in group classes.

Classes are small groups, and it also teaches online. The tutor profiled on its about page, Bel Hwang, has more than 10 years of IB and IGCSE maths teaching and a master's in economics from NUS, and the site says its tutors were trained at Singapore's National Institute of Education. Fees aren't published, so ask for the price and the class size together.
Lessons follow what it calls its 4P system, which starts from what the student already knows. It also sells its own IB revision books, including a Math Analysis and Approaches SL guide, which gives you a feel for the teaching before you sign up.

Group classes are S$450 to S$650 a month and one-to-one S$600 to S$1,000 a month. It teaches one-to-one or in small groups, with weekly lessons, topic courses of four to eight lessons, and holiday boot camps of one to three months, and it covers IGCSE and MYP for younger students. It says its tutors average eight years of teaching.
It also sells IA, EE and TOK consultations, and as with any coursework help, agree upfront what the tutor will do. Some of its programme pages still carry placeholder text, so I'd get the timetable, the tutor's name and the fee in writing. It's at 15 Scotts Road, in the same building as Prep Zone.

Its rate guide puts IB Diploma tutors at S$40 to S$120 an hour, rising with experience from part-time tutors to current and former MOE teachers. IGCSE runs S$35 to S$110 an hour. You pay only for lessons held, and the agency says it replies to a request within 12 hours.
With an agency you're judging one tutor, not a centre. Ask for that tutor's own IB background (did they take the Diploma, have they taught it, which subject guide do they teach from), and know that MOE's rules for tuition centres don't cover home tutors or the agencies that match them. A trial lesson tells you more than a profile.

Five centres and one agency publish IB prices. Where the lesson length is given, I've worked out the hourly rate so you can compare them.
| Option | Published price | Works out to |
|---|---|---|
| Group, Photon Academy | S$480 a month (4 lessons) | S$120 a lesson |
| Group, Quintessential Education | S$530 a month (4 lessons of 1 hr 45 min) | About S$76 an hour |
| Group, The Economics Tutor | S$480 (8 to 12 students) or S$660 (3 to 6) per 4 lessons | S$120 or S$165 a lesson |
| Group, Eipimath (HL) | S$1,560 per 13-lesson term (26 hours) | S$60 an hour |
| Group, Edulab Academy | S$450 to S$650 a month | Lessons per month not stated |
| 1-to-1, Photon Academy | S$600 a month (4 lessons) | S$150 a lesson |
| 1-to-1, Quintessential Education | S$750 to S$1,080 a month (4 lessons of 1 hr 30 min) | About S$125 to S$180 an hour |
| 1-to-1, The Economics Tutor | S$150 to S$220 an hour | As published |
| 1-to-1, Eipimath | S$5,200 (HL) or S$3,900 (SL) a term | S$200 an hour |
| Home tutor, Premium Tutors | S$40 to S$120 an hour | Depends on the tutor |
So budget roughly S$400 to S$660 a month per subject for a weekly group class, and S$125 to S$220 an hour one-to-one with a specialist. Check what goes on top. The Economics Tutor adds an S$80 registration fee and S$120 a semester for materials, while Photon Academy says it charges no registration fee.
If you're looking for an IB tutor in Singapore for the first time, these are the checks I'd make before paying a deposit.
- IB-only classes on the current syllabus. Ask whether IB students share a class with A-Level or O-Level students. The Economics Tutor says plainly that its IB classes don't mix with A-Level students. Ask which edition of the subject guide the notes follow, too. The IB teaches new Math AA and AI courses from 2027, first examined in 2029, so a student starting the Diploma in 2027 needs a tutor teaching the new course.
- Coursework help that stays inside the rules. The IB's academic integrity page says it expects "genuine and authentic pieces of work, that represent their own abilities", and its policy names private tutors among the people a student must not take non-permitted help from when completing or editing work. A tutor can teach the subject, explain the criteria and ask hard questions about a draft. They can't write it, rewrite it or hand over a template.
- A tutor who knows the internal assessment. The IB's assessment page lists the work teachers assess inside most courses: laboratory work in the sciences, investigations in maths, oral work in languages. Ask the tutor to walk you through the IA criteria for your child's subject. If they can't, they're teaching to the exam alone.
- The teacher's IB background, in plain words. "IBO certified" and "IB examiner" mean different things. Ask which subject the examiner marks, whether they still do, and whether that person will teach your child.
- A registered centre. Search for the centre by name on MOE's list of registered private schools, and ask to see its registration certificate at the front desk.
- A published price and a trial. Six of the nine here publish fees. For the rest, get the fee, class size and lesson length in writing before the trial.
One more check that costs nothing: talk to your child's IB coordinator. Every IB school has its own academic integrity policy alongside the IB's and sets its own coursework deadlines, and a coordinator would rather hear about a tutor in Year 1 than in the month the IA is due.
I started from the 40-odd names on the two longest lists ranking for IB tuition in Singapore and kept those with a live site, a base or team in Singapore, and IB teaching I could see on their own pages: IB subject lists, separate HL and SL classes, IA and EE support. Then I read each one's IB, fee and contact pages on 28 October 2026. Every fee, address and credential here is as the centre states it.
I left out a centre with no IB subject list that offers money back if a student misses an A, two online providers with no Singapore address, a chemistry specialist whose own website I couldn't find, and an online tutor platform that publishes no IB rates. Seven of the nine sites here headline a results figure, mostly the share of students scoring 6s and 7s. I couldn't find the number of students behind any of them, so none of those figures decided a place on this list, and I haven't repeated them. I'll update the list as fees change.
IB tuition in Singapore costs about S$400 to S$660 a month per subject for a weekly group class, and S$125 to S$220 an hour for one-to-one lessons with a specialist, based on the fees six providers publish. Home tutors found through an agency charge S$40 to S$120 an hour, depending on experience.
Registration and material fees come on top at some centres, and holiday courses and IA programmes are usually priced separately. Mindlab International, Prep Zone Academy and IB Super quote on request.
I'd start IB tuition at one of two points in the two-year Diploma Programme: the first term of Year 1, if HL maths or a science is already slipping, or six months before the May or November exams, for revision. Coursework help should fit around the IA and Extended Essay deadlines your child's school sets.
Starting the Diploma in 2027? The IB teaches new maths courses from that year, so check the tutor is teaching the new syllabus. Students coming from IGCSE can start earlier with a pre-IB course, and Photon Academy and Quintessential Education both run one.
Yes, within limits. A tutor can teach the subject, explain the IB's assessment criteria and ask questions that push your child's thinking. But the IB's academic integrity policy names private tutors among the sources of non-permitted help in completing or editing work, so writing, editing or templating an IA or Extended Essay crosses the line.
The Extended Essay is an independent piece of research that ends in a 4,000-word paper, and every Diploma student has to write one. The policy treats work commissioned or edited by a third party as misconduct, and counts repeated rounds of editing beyond what the subject guide allows as undue help. If a coursework package includes writing or editing for your child, leave that part out.
Group IB tuition, at about S$400 to S$660 a month for four lessons, suits a student who follows the subject but needs practice and exam technique. One-to-one, at S$125 to S$220 an hour with a specialist, suits a big gap, a subject few centres teach, or a student who won't ask questions in a group.
Small groups sit in between. Quintessential Education keeps its IB groups to three to six students, and The Economics Tutor runs mini groups of three to six alongside larger ones. Prep Zone Academy teaches IB one-to-one only.
Yes, once they teach 10 or more students. In a 2021 reply in Parliament, MOE said that under the Education Act, centres offering tuition or enrichment to 10 or more students must register with it, and their tutors must be registered too. Those rules don't cover freelance home tutors or the agencies that match them.
You can search MOE's list of registered private schools by name, and MOE says you can ask to see a school's registration certificate and its letters of permission for courses and teachers. Registration isn't a quality mark, though. MOE says it doesn't endorse or accredit the schools it registers.
The best IB tuition in Singapore for your child starts with the subject. For several subjects at once, I'd start with Photon Academy or Quintessential Education. For one subject, go to the specialist: The Economics Tutor for Economics, Eipimath for maths. Mindlab International is the bridge from IGCSE, Prep Zone Academy the one-to-one fallback, and Premium Tutors the way to a home tutor.
Whoever you pick, ask three things before you pay: is the class IB-only, who exactly teaches it, and what will the tutor do, and not do, on the IA and Extended Essay. If the school decision is still open, my guides to choosing an international school in Singapore, IB schools and their results and IGCSE schools cover that side. Families moving into a local school need the AEIS preparation centres instead, and for life outside exams there's my enrichment centres guide.
Run a tuition centre? About half the IB tuition sites I read for this guide hid their fees, and the ones that showed them were far easier to shortlist. I design websites for tuition and enrichment businesses that put the subjects, the teachers and the price where parents can find them. Read my notes on websites and SEO for tuition centres, see my web design services in Singapore, or get a quote.
