12 Best Science Tuition Centres in Singapore (November 2026)
Science tuition in Singapore: 12 centres for PSLE, Pure and Combined Science compared by class size and 2027 fees, plus how PSLE Science and the SEC are marked.
This guide is part of Terris Recommends, my researched, hands-on picks of the best local businesses and services in Singapore. Every recommendation is researched and ranked by me.
See all recommendationsScience tuition in Singapore covers two quite different jobs. At primary level it's mostly about the PSLE paper, where a child who understands a topic can still drop marks by writing an answer the marker can't credit. At secondary level it's Physics, Chemistry and Biology as real subjects, with a practical exam that counts towards the grade and, from 2027, a new national exam, the SEC, in place of the O-Levels.
I compared 12 science tuition centres on what they publish themselves: who teaches, how big the classes are, what they charge for 2026 and 2027, and which results they show with a year attached. I also read SEAB's syllabus documents for the 2026 PSLE Science paper and the 2027 SEC sciences, because several centres still describe exams that no longer exist. Fees and branches are from each centre's own site in November 2026.
If your child needs help in more than one subject, my guide to the best tuition centres in Singapore covers the multi-subject chains. For the other PSLE paper most families worry about, see my PSLE maths tuition guide.

| Science Shifu | Free notes, low-cost online classes | P3 to Sec 2 | Large online classes | S$189 or S$209 a month |
Fees are per subject as each centre published them in November 2026. Where a row doesn't say "incl. GST", the centre doesn't say either way, so compare the final figure you're quoted.
PSLE Science in 2026 is one written paper of 1 hour 45 minutes in two booklets. Booklet A has 30 multiple-choice questions worth 2 marks each, so 60 marks. Booklet B has 10 or 11 structured questions worth 2 to 5 marks each, 40 marks in all. That's from SEAB's 2026 PSLE Science syllabus (0009), which SEAB marks as revised on its list of 2026 PSLE formats.
| Booklet | Questions | Marks |
|---|---|---|
| A | 30 multiple-choice, 2 marks each | 60 |
| B | 10 or 11 structured, 2 to 5 marks each | 40 |
| Total | One paper, 1 hour 45 minutes | 100 |
It's the first PSLE set on MOE's 2023 primary science syllabus, which started with the 2023 Primary 3 cohort. SEAB tests knowledge with understanding, and applying it through scientific inquiry: predicting, interpreting and evaluating information, and communicating explanations and reasoning. That last skill is where Booklet B marks go. The mark then becomes an Achievement Level from AL1 (90 and above) to AL8.
For PSLE science tuition, two things follow. Booklet A is 60% of the paper, so timed multiple-choice practice earns its keep. And Booklet B rewards a precise, linked answer over a long one. Children who take Foundation Science in P5 and P6 sit a separate paper (0039), so check that a centre has a class for it.
It has three centres, at Lorong 4 Toa Payoh, Our Tampines Hub and inside Woodlands MRT station, plus live-streamed classes and video lessons on demand. Its chemistry page names its tutors, including one with more than 10 years of teaching. The homepage gives distinction rates of 85% for O-Level Chemistry and 80% for Biology, with no year, so ask what last year's cohort scored.
Unusually for a science specialist, it publishes fees. Primary Science is S$260 a month at P3 and P4 and S$280 at P5 and P6, with lower figures (S$247 and S$266) beside them that the page doesn't explain. O-Level sciences are S$320 a month, S$304 for a second subject, and JC sciences S$400. GST isn't mentioned, and trials are paid. Its homepage wouldn't load in my screenshot tool, so there's no preview here, but the site is live.

It has taught since 2013 from one campus, on the seventh floor of GR.iD at 1 Selegie Road, plus weekly live Zoom classes with no recordings. It quotes an 84.6% distinction rate without a year, and its homepage banner still promises A* grades for PSLE Science, which haven't existed since 2021. Ask for AL results by year. It's also in my enrichment classes guide.
Fees are on the site, which I like: S$90 a lesson at P3 and P4, S$100 at P5 and P6 and S$110 at secondary, nett and including GST. A trial is compulsory and costs the same as a lesson. There's no JC programme, and one campus in town is a long trip from Jurong or Pasir Ris unless your child goes online.

Its worksheets are built in steps that suit Booklet B. A child sees a worked example using its CCC question-analysis and AIR answering frameworks, then does partly guided questions filling in the key concept words, then tries an open-ended question alone. For PSLE 2025 it says two in three of its students scored AL1 or AL2 in their Mind Stretcher subjects, though it doesn't split that by subject.
At secondary it teaches Science in Sec 1 and 2, then Physics and Chemistry; I couldn't find Biology on its secondary pages. Classes average 8 to 10. There's no free trial: one lesson is S$70 plus GST, a week of unlimited trial classes S$107.91, and registration S$76.30.

It started in 2018 at Goldhill Centre in Novena and has just added Coronation Plaza. It teaches P1 to P6, with a junior programme for the younger levels, plus lower secondary Science and upper secondary Chemistry. Its free Facebook Live session, Science in Action, runs on Tuesday evenings, a no-cost way to see how they teach.
Two cautions. Fees aren't published, and the site never says what T, C and R stand for, so ask at the trial. Its homepage also claims over 90% of students scored an A and over half an A*, pre-2021 PSLE grades with no year. Ask for AL results instead.

Science runs from P3 to Sec 4, then JC1 Chemistry. Classes are 12 at primary and 13 at secondary, across 10 centres from JEM to Seletar Mall, with online classes from P3 to Sec 4. For PSLE 2025 it says more than 60% of its students scored AL1 or AL2 in their TLL subjects, across subjects rather than science alone.
It's expensive. For 2026-27 a weekday class is S$634.40 a month at P5 and P6, S$667.08 at secondary and S$701.96 at JC, including GST, billed by the term, plus S$98.10 to register and a S$150 deposit. If science is the only gap, a specialist here costs about half as much; my tuition centres guide covers the rest of its programme.

Founded in 2014 by Jerald Lie, an NUS science graduate, it teaches SEC Chemistry and Combined Science with Chemistry, H2, IP and IB Chemistry, plus Primary and Lower Secondary Science. Centres are at Bukit Timah, New Tech Park on Lorong Chuan and Kembangan. Theory lessons can be live-streamed with practicals in person, and lessons are recorded to its student portal.
It says 90.3% of its students score an A or B, with no year or cohort, and adds that past results aren't a guarantee. Fees aren't published, and materials and lab consumables are charged on top, so get the full monthly figure in writing. For a primary child I'd look higher up this list.

It teaches Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Lower Secondary Science in small groups, alongside Maths, English and the humanities, at Bishan (opposite Catholic High), Kovan, Parkway Centre in Marine Parade and Woodlands. Its science page is written for the SEC, with notes on command words, data analysis and experimental design questions.
Fees aren't published, and its one results figure is for maths (85% of maths students improving by a grade or more, no year). Ask for science results and the practical-class dates before you sign up.
- Best known for

It covers Primary and Lower Secondary Science, O-Level Physics, Chemistry and Biology and Combined Science, with a LAB+ class to get secondary students comfortable with equipment before the practical exam. Primary students get a take-home lab kit. It says its tutors hold science degrees, many having taught in MOE schools or worked as lab instructors.
The website lets it down: its results counters show zeros, and "beating national average since 2012" has no figures behind it. Fees aren't published. Judge it on a trial and ask for last year's grades by subject.

Its founder, Valerie, has an NTU degree in Biological Sciences and has tutored since 2010, and the other named teachers hold NTU or NUS science degrees, one of them a former A*STAR researcher. The team leans towards Biology and Chemistry, so it fits best if it's biology tuition or chemistry you're after.
Fees aren't published, but the trial is free. Its results are testimonials (one student going from B4 to A2 in Pure Biology in 2023) and an undated claim of a 90% distinction rate across 800 students. Its email is a Gmail address, common for small outfits but worth knowing.

Its senior teacher Yvonne Chen taught Mathematics and Physics at Raffles Girls' School. The other science teachers aren't profiled on the homepage, so ask who would teach your child. Centres are beside Rochor, Beauty World and Braddell MRT stations, with online classes on ClassIn.
Fees are published: S$440 a month at PSLE level, S$528 at secondary and S$616 at A-Level, for four two-hour lessons, with one lesson free if you pay by the 13-lesson term. Registration is S$20 and the deposit S$150. The site doesn't say whether GST is added, and it publishes testimonials rather than science results.

Science starts at P3 with 1.5-hour lessons, two hours from P4, in classes of about 6 to 12. There are seven centres, including Orchard, Coronation Plaza, Seletar Mall and Tampines, plus online classes of up to 18.
For 2027 a weekday lesson costs S$92.65 at P4 and S$103.55 at P5 and P6, including GST, billed by the term of 10 to 13 lessons, plus S$54.50 to register and a S$150 deposit. Its science page still says eight in ten students score distinctions at PSLE, pre-2021 wording with no year, so ask for AL results.

It's run by Andy Ling, who left accounting to tutor science full time and says he has coached more than 4,000 students. The live classes run through Grade Solution, an affiliated centre at Parkway Centre in Marine Parade, and can be big (Grade Solution says up to 50 or more online), so they suit a child who follows along without much one-to-one attention.
Grade Solution's page gives two prices for primary online classes, S$189 a month including GST in one place and S$209 before GST in another, with no deposit or registration fee. Ask which applies before you pay.

Pure Science means taking Physics, Chemistry or Biology as separate subjects, each with its own grade. Combined Science puts two of the three into one subject and one grade. From 2027 both are examined as G3 subjects of the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) under new codes, though SEAB's 2027 list doesn't mark any of the six science syllabuses as revised. Students who entered Sec 1 in 2024 are the first SEC cohort, with results in January 2028.
| Subject | O-Level code (2026) | SEC G3 code (2027) |
|---|---|---|
| Physics | 6091 | K323 |
| Chemistry | 6092 | K324 |
| Biology | 6093 | K325 |
| Science (Physics, Chemistry) | 5086 | K326 |
| Science (Physics, Biology) | 5087 | K327 |
| Science (Chemistry, Biology) | 5088 | K328 |
The papers differ more than parents expect. A Pure Science such as G3 Chemistry (K324) has a 40-question multiple-choice paper worth 30%, an 80-mark structured and free-response paper worth 50%, and a 1 hour 50 minute practical worth 20%. Combined Science has a multiple-choice paper worth 20%, two 65-mark theory papers worth 32.5% each, and a 1 hour 30 minute practical worth 15%. The practical comes before the written papers in either route.
Combined Science keeps the same chapter headings for Chemistry and most of them for Physics (16 topics to Pure Physics's 20), but asks for less within each. By my rough count, each half lists about three-fifths as many learning outcomes as the matching Pure subject. So a Combined student needs a class that teaches their syllabus, not a Pure class slowed down, which is why I note which centres run Combined Science on its own.
This year's Sec 4s sat the last O-Levels under the old codes (SEAB's 2026 O-Level list). If you're looking at O-Level science tuition for a Sec 3 now, it's really SEC tuition, so ask what changed in the centre's notes and how it prepares students for the practical.
Most children lose marks on PSLE Science open-ended questions because their answer states a true fact without tying it to the question. The usual slips are a missing scientific keyword, a cause given without its effect, and a general rule written where the question wanted evidence from the diagram or experiment in front of them.
Take a classic: why did the water level in the beaker drop? "Evaporation" scores little. "The water gained heat from the surroundings and evaporated, so less water was left in the beaker" links the process to what the child saw, and that link is what earns the marks. The centres here each teach a version of it: BlueTree's A.B.C., Mind Stretcher's CCC and AIR frameworks, Heuristics Science's TCR and The Pique Lab's topic masterclasses.
At home, two habits help more than another assessment book. Keep a short keyword list for each topic and check answers against it. And when a test comes back, have your child rewrite one wrong open-ended answer properly each week instead of just reading the correction.
JC sciences are a different market, and the strongest names specialise. For JC or the upper years of an IP school, I'd start with these, alongside my guides to H2 Maths tuition and, for international school students, IB tuition.
- The Physics Cafe (thephysicscafe.com): the JC physics tuition specialist, part of PMC.SG Education Group, with centres at Bishan, Paya Lebar, Novena and Marymount. Fees aren't published, registration is S$109 and there's no free trial.
- The Chem Cafe (thechemcafe.com): PMC.SG's chemistry side, whose address now opens the group's JC Chemistry page. It teaches H1 and H2 Chemistry at the same four centres and says 87% of its 2023 A-Level JC Chemistry students scored a distinction.
- Chemistry Guru (chemistryguru.com.sg): H2 Chemistry only, taught by Maverick Puah, who has about 20 years of experience and takes every class himself. Classes of about 10 to 12 in Bishan cost S$360 for a four-week month, or S$280 on Zoom, and a trial is S$50.
On this list, The Science Academy teaches JC Physics, Chemistry and Biology at S$400 a month, Achievers Dream teaches H2 Chemistry with its own lab, and Future Academy teaches all three H2 sciences in classes of six.
- Science Studios (sciencestudios.com.sg): primary science only, designed by a teacher from top MOE schools and the Gifted Education Programme, at Bukit Timah Plaza, Eastgate in Katong and Balmoral Plaza. Fees aren't published.
- Science Matters (sciencematters.com.sg): P3 to P6 science in small groups at Dunearn Village, led by Jane Chong, a former head of department (GEP) for Maths and Science.
- Geniebook CAMPUS (geniebook.com): primary classes on tablets with a monthly progress report, at six centres. Fees aren't published.
- It teaches the paper your child will sit. PSLE Science is now set on the 2023 syllabus, and today's Sec 3s sit the SEC. Ask what changed in the centre's notes. A vague answer is a warning sign.
- An answering method it can show you. Bring one of your child's wrong open-ended answers to the trial and ask how they'd teach it. Five minutes of that beats any brochure.
- Results with a year, in current grades. "AL1 or AL2 in PSLE 2025" is a result. A* and undated "distinctions" belong to an older exam, and several centres here still use them.
- Practical work at secondary. The practical is 15% to 20% of the SEC grade. Achievers Dream and SmartLab have their own labs, and Explorer Academy runs a lab-practice class.
- Class size for your slot. Future Academy caps at six and The Science Academy runs 5 to 11, while online classes elsewhere can pass 50.
A centre teaching 10 or more students must be registered with MOE, and you can look it up on MOE's list of private schools.
I started from the centres that come up most for science tuition in Singapore, on the pages that rank for it and in lists parents share, then checked each on its own website: 2026 or 2027 fees where published, branches, class sizes, the sciences and levels it teaches, and results with a year. I left out centres I couldn't verify, and one whose website currently shows a security warning. I favoured centres that publish fees and dated results, and said so where they don't. I haven't sat in on these classes, so treat the trial as the final test.
Science tuition in Singapore costs about S$250 to S$685 a month per subject at primary, S$295 to S$720 at secondary and S$360 to S$755 at JC, for group classes of four lessons in 2026-27, going by the fee pages of the centres in this guide.
| Level | Lower end | Higher end |
|---|---|---|
| Primary (P3 to P6) | The Science Academy S$247 to S$280; Mind Stretcher S$272.50 | Pique Lab about S$400; BlueTree about S$414; Future Academy S$440; The Learning Lab up to S$684.52 |
| Secondary | Mind Stretcher S$294.30; The Science Academy S$320 | Pique Lab about S$440; Future Academy S$528; The Learning Lab up to S$719.40 |
| JC | Chemistry Guru S$360 (S$280 online); The Science Academy S$400 | Future Academy S$616; The Learning Lab up to S$754.28 |
Per-lesson prices are multiplied by four, and a five-week month costs more where centres bill weekly. Home tutors charge by the hour: agencies such as FamilyTutor list 2026 rates of about S$25 to S$60 an hour at primary and S$30 to S$70 at secondary, more for current or former MOE teachers. Add registration, deposits and, where there's a lab, consumables.
A group class at a science tuition centre suits most children, because science lessons need prepared materials, worked examples and, at secondary, practical work that a home tutor rarely brings. A home tutor is better for a child who needs one-to-one marking of open-ended answers or won't ask questions in a group.
Cost is closer than it looks: four 1.5-hour lessons a month with a full-time secondary tutor run about S$270 to S$420, similar to The Science Academy or Mind Stretcher. The difference is oversight. A centre and its teachers are registered with MOE; a home tutor isn't, so ask for qualifications and references.
Most children don't need science tuition before Primary 4. Science starts at Primary 3 under MOE's syllabus, and P3 is mostly about interest and vocabulary. The moment to act is a weak P4 result, because P4 school exams decide whether a child takes Standard or Foundation Science in P5 and P6.
For the PSLE, starting at the beginning of P5 gives two years to fix answering habits, which change more slowly than content gaps. At secondary, the natural point is Sec 3, when Pure or Combined Science starts and the practical exam is two years away.
Yes. Any science tuition centre in Singapore teaching 10 or more students must be registered with MOE, and so must every teacher there. You can search for a centre by name on MOE's list of private schools.
Registration covers the premises, courses and teachers. It isn't a quality rating and doesn't protect prepaid fees, so pay by the term and read the refund policy. Home tutors and tutor agencies sit outside it.
Parents research science centres late at night, compare three or four in one sitting, and quietly drop the one with no fees, no dated results or a site that won't load. A centre with excellent teaching can lose enquiries every week to a slow, dated website.
My guide to website design and SEO for tuition centres covers what moves enrolment. If your centre's site isn't pulling its weight, get in touch for a free consultation or see how I build websites for tuition centres.
The best science tuition in Singapore is the one that fixes your child's particular problem. For one centre from P3 to JC, The Science Academy. For a primary child who knows the work but loses marks on open-ended questions, The Pique Lab, Heuristics Science or Mind Stretcher. For secondary practicals, Achievers Dream or SmartLab, and for Combined Science, Explorer Academy. On a tight budget, start with Science Shifu's free notes.
Book a trial, bring one wrong answer from your child's last test, and watch how the teacher handles it. For other subjects, see my guides to English tuition, maths tuition and Chinese tuition, or the full list of tuition centres in Singapore.
