Special Needs Tutoring

Terris built Special Needs Tutoring from the identity outwards, then shaped a 38-page site around the way parents actually arrive. A mother whose child has just been assessed searches the condition, so all 14 of the conditions the agency works with deepest got their own page. Therapists arrive for a different reason entirely, so they get their own registration route and a live board of open assignments, with a WooCommerce shop selling learning resources alongside.

The Challenge

What They Were Facing

Special Needs Tutoring launched into a market where parents are cautious by default and have usually been let down at least once. The promise is specific: a vetted, certified therapist in the home within three days, at no cost to the family. None of that is believable on a generic tuition site. And the search traffic that matters does not look for tuition at all, it looks for "dyslexia tutor Singapore".

Problem 01

Parents Search the Condition, Not the Service

A parent whose child was assessed for dyscalculia last week types dyscalculia. They do not type special needs tuition. A single page listing sixteen conditions as tags would rank for none of them, and it would tell that parent nothing about whether this agency understands her child in particular.

Problem 02

Free Is the Offer, and the First Thing Doubted

Families pay nothing. It is the strongest thing about the business and the claim that makes people suspicious, so the site had to answer where the money comes from, who checks the credentials and what happens if a match goes wrong, all before anyone reached a form.

Problem 03

Two Audiences Who Want Opposite Things

A parent wants reassurance and a short path to a conversation. A therapist wants the qualification bar, the rates and a list of open work. Same navigation, same homepage, two completely different reasons for being on it.

Problem 04

A Brand That Could Go Wrong Two Ways

Special needs branding usually lands either clinical and cold or primary-coloured and cartoonish. Neither is what the mother of a ten-year-old with ADHD wants to look at near midnight, which is when a lot of this searching happens.

Our Solution

How We Solved It

We settled the identity first, then built the structure around how people actually find the business. Everything after that followed from those two decisions.

01 Solution 1 of 5

Warm, and Grown Up About It

Fraunces, a soft serif, carries the headings against Figtree for everything you actually read. A deep indigo and a pale teal do the work instead of primary colours, and the photography is therapists with children in real living rooms rather than stock pupils at desks. It reads calm and competent, which is the register the business needs.

02 Solution 2 of 5

One Page for Each of 14 Conditions

Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia and DCD, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, auditory processing disorder, sensory processing disorder, visual processing difficulties, intellectual disability, global developmental delay and Irlen syndrome. Each one written for the parent of that child, sitting under a conditions hub that covers all sixteen the agency supports.

03 Solution 3 of 5

10 Specialist Pages Under a Team Hub

Occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, educational therapists, cognitive behavioural therapists, shadow support teachers, home tutors, MNRI practitioners, art therapists, music specialists and sports coaches. A parent who already knows she needs a shadow support teacher never has to read about the other nine.

04 Solution 4 of 5

The Doubts Answered Before the Form

A three-step process block, six cards covering the vetting, the three-day match and the free model, and 15 FAQs written against what parents ask rather than what reads well. The SALTS and AHPC registration marks sit immediately above the FAQ, which is where the doubt arrives.

05 Solution 5 of 5

A Supply Side and a Shop

Therapists register through their own route, and open work publishes to an assignment board built as a custom post type, so the agency posts a role instead of emailing a list. Alongside it, 15 WooCommerce products covering executive function games, emotion cards and visual timetables, so a parent who is not ready to book a therapist can still leave with something useful.
