How much does a Shopify store cost in Singapore?
With me, a Shopify store on a theme designed to your brand starts at SGD 4,045, and a store designed from scratch starts at SGD 8,085. On top of that you pay Shopify for the plan, from SGD 39 a month on Basic (SGD 29 a month billed yearly), plus a card fee on each order.
Are you a Shopify Partner?
Yes. I'm a registered Shopify Partner, so I build stores through Shopify's Partner Program. I can start your store as a development store and hand it over to you when you choose a plan, or work in the store you already have as a collaborator, so you never share your password with me.
Can Shopify take PayNow in Singapore?
Yes, through a payment gateway. Shopify's own checkout in Singapore takes cards and wallets but not PayNow, so PayNow comes in through a gateway such as HitPay. Shopify adds its own fee on orders paid through another gateway, 2% on the Basic plan, so I show you that cost before it goes live.
Shopify or WooCommerce: which should I choose?
Choose Shopify if you want a store that needs little looking after and you're fine paying Shopify every month. Choose WooCommerce if you want to own everything outright, your site is mostly content with a shop beside it, or you need checkout rules Shopify's apps can't handle. I build on both, so I'll tell you which suits your shop.
Do I need a Shopify developer, or can I build the store myself?
You can build a basic Shopify store yourself on a free theme, and for a handful of products that's often enough. A developer earns the fee when the store has to look like your brand rather than the theme's demo, take PayNow, handle delivery rules, or move over from another shop without losing your Google rankings.
Can you move my store from WooCommerce to Shopify?
Yes. Products, customers and past orders move across with an importer app, and I redirect your old product and category addresses to the new ones so your Google rankings follow. I check the import product by product, because variants and images are where moves usually go wrong. The move is part of a store designed from scratch, and quoted on top of a theme store.
How long does it take to build a Shopify store?
A store on a theme takes 3 to 4 weeks with me, and a store designed from scratch takes 6 to 8 weeks. What slows a store down most is waiting on product photos and details, so it helps to start gathering them early.
Will I own my Shopify store?
Yes. The Shopify account, the store, your products, your customer list and the theme are all in your name, and Shopify bills the plan to you. You edit products, prices, stock and banners yourself in the Shopify admin, and if you ever move to someone else, you remove my access and carry on.
Does Shopify handle GST in Singapore?
Yes, once it's set up. Shopify can add 9% GST at the checkout or show prices with GST included, and it records the tax on every order. You only charge GST if you're GST-registered, which is required once taxable turnover passes S$1 million a year. Check your own case with IRAS or your accountant.
Do you do SEO for Shopify stores?
Yes. Every store I build launches with the SEO basics in place: page titles and descriptions, clean product addresses, redirects from any old shop, and Google Search Console. Ranking for competitive searches takes work every month after launch, and that is my e-commerce SEO service.
