Yes: search that understands what shoppers mean, product recommendations, and help writing product descriptions. The approach depends on your shop platform, which I check first.
It depends on how much the feature is used and which model it uses. For most small business features it's modest, and I estimate it from your expected use before you commit, with limits so it can't run away.
Usage limits per user and per day, caching answers to repeated questions, using smaller models where they're good enough, and alerts if spend rises unexpectedly.
Not if it's built properly. The AI runs on request, in the background, and the rest of the page loads as normal.
Google says it judges content on quality, not on how it was made. Thin, unchecked AI text at scale does hurt. I use AI to draft and a person to check, so what's published is accurate and useful.
Keys stay on the server, never in the browser, are kept in environment settings rather than code, and are rotated if there's any sign they've been exposed.
Personal data sent to an AI provider, often overseas, falls under the PDPA's rules on use and transfer. I send only what the feature needs, strip personal details where possible, and pick providers whose terms don't use your data for training.
