A.W. Law LLC homepage, "A Singapore law firm that speaks your language." beside Abdul Wahab's portrait, on a 27-inch monitor on a mahogany desk in a wood-panelled office with a brass lamp, in warm evening light

Hi, I'm Terris. I designed and built this site myself, start to finish.

Legal Services September 2026

A.W. Law LLC

A.W. Law LLC handles family, civil and criminal matters from Chinatown Point, in English, Malay, Mandarin, Tamil or Vietnamese.

The project at a glance

The languages are the firm's whole proposition, so I made them the headline. Underneath I built 325 pages, with 69 for individual matters, from bail applications to deeds of separation, and 199 legal guides.

  • 69 Matter Pages
  • 199 Legal Guides
  • 5 Languages

What wasn't working, and how I fixed it

Before

Language is why clients choose A.W. Law, and firm sites rarely lead with it

For a family law client, being able to explain the problem in Malay, Tamil or Vietnamese is often the whole reason to pick one firm over another. On most firm sites it's a line on the About page, if it's there at all.

What I did

I made the languages the headline

The first screen says A Singapore law firm that speaks your language, and the line under it names English, Malay, Tamil and Vietnamese. The strip below lists all five languages the firm handles, each written in its own language, with translation staff on hand.

Before

People search for their problem, and law firms list practice areas

Nobody types civil litigation. They type whether they can stop an ex moving abroad with the children, or what happens after a police interview.

What I did

I gave every legal matter its own page

Three areas, one steady team splits the work into Family, Civil and Criminal Law, and each card names matters people search for, from Syariah divorce to bail and appeals. Every matter has a page and a URL of its own, from deeds of separation to CPIB investigations.

Before

People put off calling a lawyer in case the meter starts running

Most arrive frightened, often at night. Plenty sit on a legal problem for months rather than pay a consultation fee just to ask a question.

What I did

I answered the worries that stop people calling

Before you call takes the questions people ask themselves first, such as whether they need to speak English, what it will cost and whether anyone answers after office hours. And the main button, from the first screen to the last, books a free 10-minute discovery session, next to WhatsApp and a request-a-call line for weekdays, 9am to 10pm.

Before you call, the questions on the homepage

Before

A three-lawyer firm was up against marketing teams on Google

Bigger firms with marketing teams chase the same searches, so winning the broad terms was never realistic. The site had to win on breadth, with a page for each specific question.

What I did

I wrote 199 plain-English guides around the questions people type

The homepage shows the latest under Plain-English guides to Singapore law, such as Notary Public Fees in Singapore: What You'll Actually Pay and Statutory Declaration in Singapore: What It Is and How to Make One. The library is filed by topic, from family law down to divorce and then expat or syariah divorce, and the guides link into the matter pages. Chinatown Law Firm and Lawyer in Chinatown have pages too, for people who search by place.

How the build ran, 8 weeks in all

  1. Content Architecture 2 weeks

Mapped 69 matters and the four-level content taxonomy across family, civil, criminal and wills and probate, working out how someone in crisis would actually search for each.

  2. Design 1.5 weeks

Developed the cream and burgundy editorial system, the lawyer profile treatment, the matter page template and the guide layouts.

  3. Build 3 weeks

Built the 325 pages, the taxonomy, the three lawyer profiles, the discovery-session booking route, and Service, FAQPage and knowsLanguage schema.

  4. Content & Launch 1.5 weeks

Published the guide library, wired internal linking from guides into matter pages, and deployed.
