Precision Engineering & Fabrication

Cornerstone Design

Cornerstone Design & Trading has spent over twenty years designing and fabricating machinery parts for Singapore manufacturers, working across mechanical, electrical and programming rather than just cutting metal to a drawing. We built them a site that puts the five things they are actually procured for in front of an engineer quickly, and makes the case for local sourcing that is their real competitive advantage.

The Challenge

What They Were Facing

Precision engineering firms in Singapore mostly sell through relationships and repeat orders, so the website is rarely the first touch. It is the check that happens afterwards, when a production engineer who met you at a plant needs to confirm you can actually do jigs and fixtures before putting your name into a purchase requisition.

Problem 01

Vague Language Gets You Filtered Out

A buyer with a specific scope, custom jigs, a fixture, a machine retrofit, is matching that scope against suppliers. "Engineering solutions" does not match anything. The site had to name the work in the same words the requisition uses.

Problem 02

The Real Advantage Was Invisible

Cornerstone sources materials from local suppliers, which is why their turnaround is fast and their pricing holds. That is a genuine differentiator in a market where plenty of competitors quote against overseas lead times, and it was nowhere a customer could see it.

Problem 03

Cross-Discipline Work Reads as Unfocused

Covering mechanical, electrical and programming together is a strength on a complex retrofit and a red flag if it looks like a firm that does a bit of everything. It needed framing as a deliberate holistic approach rather than a list of things they will attempt.

Problem 04

A Small Firm Bidding Against Larger Ones

Twenty years of experience and a Bukit Batok workshop compete against bigger names with polished corporate sites. Looking credible at first glance is not vanity here, it decides whether the enquiry gets sent at all.

Our Solution

How We Solved It

We built it as a capability site rather than a brochure. Name the work precisely, explain how a job runs, and make the local-sourcing argument explicitly instead of hoping the buyer infers it.

01 Solution 1 of 4

Five Service Lines, Each With Its Own Page

Machine customisation and automation, mechanical design customisation, jigs and fixture fabrication, machine parts and metal fabrication, and sales of engineering supplies. Each gets a page in the navigation and in the footer, so a buyer searching a specific capability lands on that capability rather than a homepage listing everything.

02 Solution 2 of 4

The Local Sourcing Argument, Made Explicitly

A dedicated section explains why materials are procured locally: quality control, affordable pricing and fast turnaround, in that order. It converts an internal operating decision into the reason a buyer with a deadline should call.

03 Solution 3 of 4

A Four-Step Process Anyone Can Follow

Consultation, design, manufacturing, quality control. It sets expectations for a first-time buyer who has never commissioned a custom part, and quietly confirms to an experienced one that there is a QC stage at the end.

04 Solution 4 of 4

Technical Art Direction, Not Stock Factory Photos

The hero runs CAD linework and gear geometry over a dark blue ground rather than the generic factory imagery every competitor uses. It signals design and engineering capability before a single word is read, which for a firm selling bespoke mechanical design is the right first impression.

Process

How We Got There

4 phases from kickoff to launch.

1

Discovery

3 days

Worked through what Cornerstone is actually procured for and how buyers describe those jobs, then mapped the five service lines.

2

Design

1 week

Developed the technical visual direction, the service card system, the process band and the responsive layouts.

3

Build

1 week

Built the site on WordPress with the five service pages, the enquiry form and the contact details surfaced in the top bar.

4

Launch

2 days

Cross-browser testing, form testing and deployment.
