Perfect Pairing

We designed and built the launch site for Perfect Pairing, Singapore’s first Singpass-verified dating app. The whole page is built around one objection: people have already been catfished, so every section either proves the verification is real or shows what it fixes. Deep navy and coral, floating device mockups standing in for a product that had not shipped yet, and a Founders Special banner that rolls its own deadline forward and hides itself when the promo ends.

The Challenge

What They Were Facing

Perfect Pairing launched into the most cynical category on the internet. Singaporeans have already downloaded the big dating apps, already been catfished, already paid for premium and still got ghosted. The product’s answer is Singpass verification, the same login people use for CPF and IRAS. The site had to make that read as a genuine safeguard rather than one more marketing claim, and do it before anyone scrolled.

Problem 01

Selling Trust in a Category Nobody Trusts

Every dating app on the store claims real profiles. Perfect Pairing needed to show why its version is structurally different, a government-backed identity check rather than a selfie upload, and it needed to do that without sounding like the same promise in a different font.

Problem 02

Explaining Singpass Without Killing the Mood

Singpass lives in most people’s heads next to tax filing and CPF statements. Bolting it onto dating risks making the app feel like paperwork, so the design had to keep the verification reassuring while the rest of the page stayed warm enough to be about meeting someone.

Problem 03

A Promo That Had to Expire on Its Own

The Founders Special, premium at $9.90 a month against a usual $19.90, runs on a rolling monthly deadline. Nobody wanted to redeploy the site every month, and a banner still advertising "ends 30 June" in August would have undone every trust signal on the page.

Problem 04

Pre-Launch, With Nothing to Screenshot

The app was not public yet. No product tour, no download numbers, no press. The page had to carry the entire pitch on layout, device mockups and argument alone, while being honest that the users quoted were beta testers.

Our Solution

How We Solved It

We built the page as a single argument that runs from the complaint people already recognise, to the mechanism that fixes it, to the safety detail that closes the doubt.

01 Solution 1 of 5

Problem and Solution, Side by Side

Four paired cards put the complaint next to the fix. Fake profiles against mandatory Singpass verification. Endless ghosting against users who had to prove who they are. Matching with someone an hour away against MRT-line and neighbourhood filters. Pay-to-be-seen algorithms against a feed with no artificial scarcity. Each pair reads in about ten seconds, which is roughly the attention any dating app pitch gets.

02 Solution 2 of 5

A Comparison Table That Refuses to Overclaim

Six rows put Perfect Pairing beside the apps people are already on: identity verification, fake profile rate, bot and scammer risk, photo authenticity, user seriousness, and whether it was built for Singapore at all. It says "significantly reduced" rather than "eliminated", and a line under the testimonials states plainly that verification does not guarantee safety. Overclaiming is exactly what this audience is tired of.

03 Solution 3 of 5

Navy and Coral, With Mockups Doing the Product Tour

With no app to demo, the hero carries two floating iPhone frames showing the Singpass login screen and a real profile card, and each How It Works step renders another piece of the interface, including a live chat thread with a typing indicator. The palette, navy #1E2D5B with coral #D4623B, keeps it warm while staying clear of the pink every other dating app defaults to.

04 Solution 4 of 5

A Founders Banner That Expires by Itself

The promo deadline is computed in the browser from the current month, so the banner always reads the last day of whichever month someone is viewing it in, and the whole section removes itself after November. No monthly redeploy, no stale offer sitting on the page contradicting the trust argument above it.

05 Solution 5 of 5

Tracking and Compliance From Day One

Google Ads conversion tracking runs on the signup path from launch, and the site ships with privacy, terms, cookie and PDPA pages, which matters more than usual for a product whose entire premise is handling NRIC-backed identity. Six pages in total, all statically rendered on Astro.

Process

How We Got There

4 phases from kickoff to launch.

1

Positioning & Structure

3 days

Worked out the argument order: the complaint, the mechanism, the proof, the safety detail, then the offer. That order became the page structure.

2

Design

1 week

Designed the navy and coral system, the hero with device mockups, the problem/solution pairs, the comparison table and the founders pricing card.

3

Build

1 week

Built the eleven sections on Astro with scroll reveals and the self-expiring promo logic, plus the six pages including PDPA, privacy, terms and cookies.

4

Ads & Launch

2 days

Wired Google Ads conversion tracking to the signup path, tested the promo rollover across month boundaries, and deployed to Vercel.
