Handyman AZ SG

We branded, designed and built handymanaz.sg for JKH Engineering, a BCA-registered repair company working islandwide. The site is 66 pages: 23 individual service pages, 29 area pages, four property-type pages and the core set, so a search for "aircon servicing Yishun" lands on a page about exactly that instead of a homepage that mentions everything. Every route out of the site is a WhatsApp message or a phone call, and all three are tracked as Google Ads conversions.

The Challenge

What They Were Facing

Handyman AZ, operated by JKH Engineering Pte Ltd, is BCA-registered, insured and staffed by WSH-certified technicians. None of that is visible in a search result. The Singapore home repair market is owned by lead aggregators and directories that rank for every trade in every estate, then sell the resulting enquiry back to the contractors who could have taken the call directly.

Problem 01

Search Happens at Service and Estate Level

Nobody with a burst pipe searches "handyman". They search "plumber Bedok", "aircon servicing Yishun", "digital lock installation HDB". A single homepage listing twenty services and the word "islandwide" cannot rank for any of those, no matter how good the company is.

Problem 02

Directories Own the Results Page

The aggregators sit above every independent trade business in Singapore, take the homeowner’s details, and resell them. It leaves a good contractor paying for leads that were looking for them in the first place, and competing on price against three other quotes for the same job.

Problem 03

The Credentials Were Invisible

BCA registration, full insurance, WSH-certified technicians and a workmanship guarantee are exactly what separates a real firm from a number on a lift-lobby sticker. On a phone listing, none of it shows. Homeowners were being asked to trust a mobile number.

Problem 04

Urgent Jobs Do Not Fill In Forms

A leaking ceiling at nine at night is a photograph sent on WhatsApp, not a five-field enquiry form with a dropdown. Any conversion path that made someone type out the problem was going to lose the job to whoever picked up first.

Our Solution

How We Solved It

We built the site as a grid rather than a brochure. Every service gets a page, every area gets a page, every property type gets a page, and every one of them ends in the same two buttons.

01 Solution 1 of 5

23 Services Crossed With 29 Areas

Built dedicated pages for each of the 23 services, from plumbing, electrical and aircon servicing through to waterproofing, digital locks, TV wall mounting and hinge installation, grouped into Popular, Repairs and Installations. Those sit alongside 29 area pages covering Ang Mo Kio through Yishun, five regional hubs, and four property-type pages for HDB, condo, landed and commercial work. 66 pages in total, each one aimed at a search somebody is actually typing.

02 Solution 2 of 5

A WhatsApp-First Conversion Path

Green WhatsApp and orange call buttons sit paired in the header, in the hero, at the end of every section and in a sticky bar that follows you down the page on mobile. The copy asks for a photo rather than a description, because a picture of the leak quotes faster than a paragraph about it. Three Google Ads conversion actions fire on call, WhatsApp and lead form, alongside GA4 dataLayer events and Microsoft Clarity session recording.

03 Solution 3 of 5

Credentials Built Into the Layout

The trust row sits directly under the hero headline rather than on an About page: 4.9 out of 5, 500+ jobs done, BCA-registered and insured, open seven days, islandwide. Further down, a four-card section spells out the WSH certification, same-day response, quote-before-work pricing and the workmanship guarantee, and the stats bar repeats the numbers with 10+ years of experience.

04 Solution 4 of 5

Local Schema That Names All 30 Areas

Marked the business up as HomeAndConstructionBusiness with its aggregate rating, opening hours, phone number and an areaServed list naming all five regions and 25 individual estates. It is the difference between telling Google you work islandwide and telling it exactly which twenty-five places that means.

05 Solution 5 of 5

A Fast Astro Build on Vercel

Built on Astro with no client framework runtime, Archivo for the headings, and a clean light palette of navy and orange that reads instantly on a phone in daylight. Sixty-six pages that stay fast is the point: this is a site people open one-handed, standing next to the thing that is broken.

Process

How We Got There

4 phases from kickoff to launch.

1

Brand & Strategy

1 week

Developed the Handyman AZ identity and the navy-and-orange system, and mapped the service and area matrix against what Singapore homeowners actually search for.

2

Design

1 week

Designed the homepage, the service page template, the area page template and the property-type pages, with the WhatsApp-and-call pairing carried through all of them.

3

Build & SEO

1.5 weeks

Built the 66 pages on Astro, implemented the HomeAndConstructionBusiness schema with all 30 served areas, and set up the sitemap and internal linking between services, areas and property types.

4

Ads & Launch

0.5 weeks

Wired the three Google Ads conversion actions, GA4 events and Clarity, tested every call and WhatsApp route on mobile, and deployed to Vercel.
